Construction Apprenticeships

GENCO Construction believes in nurturing the next generation.  We recognise that offering an apprenticeship scheme develops core skills and supports the progress of young people’s careers. Our apprentices have the opportunity to learn a wide range of skills including; technical construction, civil engineering, quantity surveying, estimation, mechanical engineering, electrical maintenance, plumbing and business & administration. Our apprentices work towards a Construction Industry Training Board (CITB) qualification and on-the-job training.

Ben completed his 2yr apprenticeship course in December 2018. The course; entitled ‘Construction in the Built Environment’ (Level 3 Diploma) was supported by Mid Kent College in Maidstone where he attended for one day a week. The rest of the time Ben worked from the GENCO Construction offices, working as a trainee. He was able to learn a range of skills from project management to tendering and estimating. Despite being the apprentice, Ben got to work with and learn from everyone within the team, from the onsite engineers to the managers and directors. Ben comments “I get treated as an equal and with respect and I know this will really help my confidence as I progress within the construction industry.” Aged just 18yrs of age, Ben hopes to go a long way in his career and is enjoying the opportunity to earn whilst he learns too.
