Pledge of Best Practice

Committed to promoting sustainability construction

In 2008, the government’s strategy for Sustainable Construction came into effect. This represented a commitment from the industry to not only reduce its carbon footprint and consumption of resources, but to train and retain a skilled and committed workforce. From the foundations of procurement, innovative design and improved regulation, through to the practicalities of sourcing sustainable materials, reducing water consumption and waste, GENCO Construction is committed to promoting sustainability and it is integral to our professional activities and the overall management of the company.

We aim to follow and to promote good sustainability practice, to reduce the environmental impacts of all our activities and to help our customers to do the same. Our Sustainability Policy is based on the following principles:

  • To comply with, and exceed where practicable, all applicable legislation, regulations and codes of practice.
  • To integrate sustainability considerations into all our business decisions.
  • To minimize the impact of sustainability of office and transportation activities.
  • To review and strive to improve our sustainability performance.

Managing Director John Roberts explains; “GENCO Construction recognizes that the larger construction companies are leading the way, by both expanding budgets, thinking about materials and vetting their supply chain. Our aim is to ensure that our workforce think of sustainability in all that they do and to work together in continuously promoting best practice”.
